Statement: Space is the most immediate medium through which we understand the world, yet we often take it for granted. I am interested in exploring how our environment impacts our experiences, memories, and identities. Many of my installations utilize projected images of imagined or remembered environments - places one accesses mentally but not physically. Past projects include recreations of memories from incarcerated individuals and another project series exploring the changing architectural landscape of San Francisco. Through my work, I ask viewers to slow down, feel, and consider the physical world around us.
