Description: "This was the first in the Useless Tools series. It began as an AI-generated image, created using a customized version of Midjourney and informed by research into anomalies in the model’s training data. The phrase “dewalt cordless” proved especially potent—it consistently coerced the model into generating tool-like forms, mimicking the abundance of DeWalt product photos it had learned from. The original prompt was: “a dewalt cordless device utilized for self-defense.” From hundreds of generated images, one was selected and its implied geometry was manually reconstructed in Fusion 360 as a CAD model. The final object was 3D printed using Pantone-matched PLA filament manufactured in India."
