Description: My mother held me at the beginning of my life, as I held her at the end of hers – warm, close and with few words. The Bollard Project investigates the motherbody as an obstacle that blocks, protects and gives rise to life. Bringing together the materials, processes and forms of wet felting, spindle turning, boxwood topiary, and citrus juicery, this group of eight palm-sized bollards represents a period of reflection on mothering, daughtering, work, barriers and circles. Bollard Study (2025) is dedicated to the eight mother artists of the North Street Arts Fellowship Cohort of 2025-26.
