Description: PARDES (2026) is part of a series shot in the middle stretch of BR-319, a mostly unpaved highway in Amazonia at the center of environmental controversies for the potential for deforestation it brings to the region. Centered in the carcasses of cattle left to rot on the side of the road after an accident, PARDES explores what is left behind in the transition of traditional economies in the Amazon to one centered on cattle and soy. The slide photographs projected preserve the richness of colors of Amazonia, contrasting with the decaying carcasses and bones, and the river of red mud in which they rest.
