Description: Hitch is a sculpture inspired by crane swivel hooks and the bobbin case hook found in sewing machines. I have often found labor space to be gendered in hostile ways, and yet I am romanced by these tools that allow us to extend our bodies. In hybridizing and trans-ing these tools, I am creating a prosthetic to aid me in conjuring of my body and what utility that body might find. This tool once swiveled, yet in the finishing process the swivel eye swelled shut, and she became crystalized. Weighed down by the effusiveness of her own beauty, she escapes the tyrannical demands of utility.
