Bio: Alex Uranga has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area his entire life. He lives and works in Oakland, California and holds a BFA from the California College of the Arts. He is the co-founder of Glue Projects, an artist run gallery space in San Francisco, and is a former resident of Art Farm Nebraska.

Statement: I find the stages of mechanical process to hold psychic states both internally and externally emotional. Drawing from historical narrative, popular culture, and ritualistic practice, my work looks for structures both anxious and laxed, fluid and structural, domestic and industrial, in a back and forth of additive and subtractive gesticulating.
