Bio: Traveling to San Francisco for art school thirty years ago, I found a small basement room in North Beach where I've lived alone, drawing on a cement floor under a cafe. I make my living as a hotel handyman.
Statement: I am out at dawn drawing tree memorials in treeless places when conditions are quiet, dry and windless. My trees are drawn in spilled flour, sprayed with water then swept back up leaving the residue to be eaten by pigeons. Unsanctioned and ephemeral, these drawings appear in industrial zones and only in the morning when the wind is low can it be attempted. I do this alone.
