Description: "Convolutions" is a collection of technological specimens — synthetic neurons that have attuned themselves to the visual fragments found in millions of Internet photos. Each of these 112 blurred, pixelated patterns represents a distilled technological percept, parts of grammar from an artificial intelligence’s visual language. Similar to the primal motifs learned by our brains, these abstract archetypes were collected by the artist from the landmark 2014 open-source neural network Inception v1, capturing a seminal moment in AI history.
