Description: "Picking Berries" depicts a static, repeating field that is occasionally interrupted by figures resembling blue pac-man ghosts. The figure/ground relationship references the act of gathering berries, a process that requires the gatherer to sort through a large field of organic and chaotic visual stimuli in order to hone in on the small prized object. The metaphoric 'berry' in this case is an 8-bit ghost character from the original Pac-Man video game, albeit the version of the ghost that has just switched from hunting Pac-Man, to themselves becoming the hunted object.
