Arts & Gallery Operations Intern

Reset Art / 120710 — Berkeley, CA
$20/hour · 10–15 hours/week · Fall 2026, with possibility of continuing

Reset Art is looking for a curious, energetic art student to help us produce exhibitions, grow audiences, sell art, and build new opportunities for artists.

Reset Art is a Berkeley-based arts nonprofit working to create more opportunities for artists to make, exhibit, and sell art. We operate 120710, a contemporary art gallery in West Berkeley, while developing tools and models that can make it easier for artists, curators, and organizers to create exhibitions and launch independent art spaces.

We’re looking for someone who wants to get directly involved in that work.

What You’ll Do

This isn’t an internship where you’ll spend the semester doing one narrowly defined task. You’ll work directly with Reset’s founder and participate in many aspects of running and expanding an arts organization.

Depending on what’s happening that week, you might:

You’ll also attend exhibition openings and occasional evening or weekend events.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re particularly interested in Art Practice and History of Art students who are excited about contemporary art and curious about what happens behind the scenes of exhibitions and arts organizations.

You don’t need previous gallery experience.

We’re more interested in someone who is:

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who likes making things happen.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll get unusually broad exposure to how exhibitions and arts organizations actually work.

You’ll participate in the process of conceiving, producing, installing, marketing, opening, and selling exhibitions; work directly with artists and curators; learn about art sales and collecting; participate in the development of public-art opportunities; and help explore how an independent gallery model can expand into additional spaces and communities.

You’ll see both sides of what we’re building: the physical gallery and the larger nonprofit organization behind it.

Because Reset itself is growing, you’ll also have an opportunity to contribute ideas and help shape how the organization develops rather than simply stepping into an established internship program.
