Description: This archaeological display builds a portrait of the contemporary freelance worker using only the objects that surround them. The collection collapses the boundaries between professional life and private life, where tools of labor exist alongside prescription medication, stimulants, protective equipment, and personal effects. Together they form an inventory of a culture in which productivity increasingly defines identity, exhaustion is managed chemically, and care for oneself—and for one another—is often displaced by the constant demand to keep working. Rather than presenting these objects as symbols with fixed meanings, the installation invites viewers to consider how capitalism reshapes the things we carry, what we value, and ultimately, what is left behind.
