Description: This is a part of a helmet series where each helmet is of a unique style from a different functional background. Ceramic portraits of living people are depicted in small scale to allow the piece to enter into a fantasy of interpretations. These ones have become beer hats and the colorful strings represent the straws of consumption. The small beers could definitely feed the small faces, but the helmet itself being life size provides the jumping off inspiration for these re-invented characters. I see them all hanging out in the same space very much in a way that the shrunken head people in the modern Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie all occupied the same realm.
