Description: This is a fall equinox painting. Day and night are equal in length like the midair coin in the center of the painting which is half heads and half tails. Tension and excitement travel around the painting. Figures walk towards the horizon, arms outstretched. One of the figures walks, head down, into a statue of Persephone. Persephone figures appear throughout the painting, even on a shard of Greek pottery where she is being dragged into the underworld as the seasons change. Birds and butterflies migrate. The Rasputin Music marquee serenades us from the Papua New Guinea sculpture garden. The Japanese yagasuri pattern, based on arrows and good luck, underlies much of the painting. The energy of the fall equinox radiates around the painting.
