Description: Graphite and copper, elements used in industry to move energy, are coating these branches, acknowledging the vibrancy of elements that come from the earth. With great patience, I layered graphite on the branch and wrapped the other in copper, using both hands to press and rub the material. By applying these materials to the branches, I consider the connection of earth and sky with a tree having its roots in the ground and branches in the air.
