Description: Using vintage movie marquee letters, this large lightbox reads like an ornate billboard. The colors and flowers look traditionally “feminine” and sweet but surround a bold and aggressive message. Embracing contradictions, this piece explores concepts of beauty and strength, inequality and expectations within the challenges of domestic life. By titling the piece, “I am domestic”, I own the title “Bitch”. The window is built using a combination of the copper foil and traditional leading techniques, with screen printed, kiln fired glass.
