This exhibition opens portals — as memories, as sites of transformation, as repositories of community wisdom. Gathered by HRT Studio at 120710 Gallery, trans and gender-nonconforming artists ask: what becomes possible when we cross together?
The works arrive from Oakland, Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando, Toronto, and beyond — bringing with them cornhusks, slime molds, crane hooks, and chain-link fences, each a site where identity refuses to hold still. Across painting, sculpture, textile, and multimedia, these artists excavate inherited histories: ballroom floors and protest pins, ancestral lands and chosen families.
They hold these histories alongside the strange, resilient facts of being alive in a body, now.
