Statement: Susanna Conaway is an American artist working in glass. Largely inspired by humor, Conaway embraces contradictions, and explores concepts of beauty and power, in pursuit of shifting entrenched perspectives. She plays with transforming the mundane into works of grandeur.
Because stained glass conjures preconceived ideas and is rooted in a long history, Conaway’s work has an element of the unexpected as she distorts tradition to examine contemporary ideas.
